Businesses and residents across Scotland can take part in free Climate Emergency training over the coming weeks to learn all about climate change.

Our two-part online course will give organisations and communities the knowledge and skills to become a successful part of a low-carbon Scotland, and to meet our obligations.

Complete the course and you will also be eligible for an individual certificate in carbon literacy, independently verified by The Carbon Literacy Project.

Louise Comrie from Keep Scotland Beautiful, the official partner in Scotland for the Carbon Literacy Project is running the sessions. Louise said “This training is a must for anyone who wants to know more about the current science or what the data around climate change is. It’s about learning what you can do to make a difference as an individual, business, or organisation - in any sector.”

“These sessions will also help you to take effective action on climate change and develop your skills and experience in line with changing workplace expectations. And you'll be helping to build a greener, fairer world as well as helping to combat climate change.”

The online training uses a mix of delivery methods over two weeks, with dates available in October. The sessions include live interactive webinars and self-study. The total commitment for the course is 7-8 hours of learning;

  • Session One – 2.5hr online workshop
    • An introduction to climate change
    • Climate impacts and adaptation
  • Session Two – 2.5hr online workshop
    • Reducing emissions
    • Climate action and communication
  • Self-study material between the sessions

Both sessions plus self-study must be completed to be eligible for certification, so please ensure you can commit to both.
